LASH FOOD + All you need to know about Lash Serums
I have always been a long-time fan and advocate of lash serums, and wanted to talk about a new serum that I have been using lately that I've been very excited about. Before I get into that, I wanted to give you a bit of a eyelash history!
I have used eyelash serums on and off for the past couple years, and always am much happier when I am using because my eyelashes always look so much healthier, full, and strong. When I'm not using them, it's usually simply because I'm being lazy or forgetful.
I'm lazy and forgetful, then I see old pictures with amazing lashes, and am quickly reminded that I need to get my a** in gear and start using serums again. Here's some past literature I've written about with serums that I've tested:
LILASH: Pro: It really works, and the lashes grow darker and thicker. Con: It turns my eyelids pink, and if I get it in my eyes they become bloodshot.
NEULASH: Found the formula to be very similar to Lilash, but a lot more accessible.
HERE'S A GREAT VIDEO COMPARING AND ALL ABOUT EYELASH EXTENSIONS AND EYELASH SERUMS. (It's funny to watch old videos: short hair and don't ask how but I swear I went through puberty last winter and my voice totally got deeper and raspier. It's kind of crazy I don't know what to say, but I did go to the doctor last year to ask about it because I was so confused LOL!)
Currently, I was intrigued by Lash Food because I have read a lot of great reviews on the brand so I wanted to give it a try. I've been using it for well over a month now, so I'm ready to report! Here's what really excited me specifically to Lash Food:
OUR PHILOSOPHY 10 years ago, pioneers of eyelash extensions, Jane Kim and her daughter Faith began a personal quest to discover a natural yet effective alternative to longer, thicker, fuller looking lashes. Inspired by the endless regenerative powers of nature, the mother-daughter team began looking into herbs as a miraculous resource. After years of clinical research and countless experiments, a miracle was born. Formulated with powerful herb extracts and other pure ingredients, Phyto-Medic complex immerses lashes and brows in the rejuvenating powers of herbs to dramatically restore and improve the appearance of lashes and brows without irritating the skin. Phyto-Medic complex is so powerful, it transforms with every drop.
Main takeaways: NATURAL + EFFECTIVE! Herb extracts, pure ingredients, WITHOUT IRRITATING THE SKIN!
I was really excited to read about a brand that was certified natural & organic, gluten-free & irritation-free, paraben & sulfate-free, phthalates-free, dermatologist tested, and vegan.
The World’s First & Only Ecocert Natural Eyelash Enhancer. Nourish lashes to look longer, thicker, and stronger with this revolutionary, natural eyelash enhancer featuring Phyto-Medic Complex. Patented Phyto-Medic Complex delivers nutrients to feed lashes with nature’s most powerful ingredients.
LASHFOOD is natural, safe, effective, and no prescription is required. It is a drug-free alternative that provide results without the side effects. This product is Ecocert certified, dermatologist tested and approved, and vegan.
Formulated without prostaglandin, silicone, synthetic fragrances, synthetic dyes, mineral oils, phenoxyethanol, PEG, petrochemicals, GMOs, and formaldehyde donors.
All lovely sounding, but only lovely if it works! That's what I wanted to test out, and I'm happy to report that it does! I actually started noticing a difference within a week of using it. The other great news: It DOES NOT stain my eyelids or irritate or make my eyes bloodshot. That's such a major one for me, especially with having fair sensitive skin and blue eyes. I feel like the price point of this product is also right in line with all other lash serums that I have tested in the past, coming in around $80. I actually bought a smaller size for $50 to use as a trial, and I loved it so now here I am buying the larger vial. I actually just today bought a few more of their products to try, so I will report to you once I get on to using them.
I know eyelashes are always a big question I get, so I hope this information is helpful for you! What I do know, is that when you start with an amazing foundation (meaning healthy, long, strong lashes), most any mascaras work really, really well, and that becomes WAY less of a struggle! Let me know what your favorites are! Xx
